Treasurer’s Report

Michael presented the treasurers report. P & L & Aging is attached.

Membership Renewals 2018-2019

2 new members:  Daddy Matty’s & Saultogenesis Chiropractic.

Madison Christmas Parade

The Madison Christmas Parade was Friday, November 23. John, Pete & Karen walked in the parade and escorted Kate Salko who was our Rosie.  Karen discussed the need to have more of a presence in the parade.  Plans will be made early if we are going to participate in the 2019 parade. Michael will check to see what our previous year donation was to the Christmas Committee and issue a donation in the same amount. 

Realogy Vendor Days

Realogy is hosting Vendor Days beginning November 7 – December 19.  This is a shopping event for their employees.  8 chamber businesses have signed up to participate.

CBRE Holiday Extravaganza

CBRE is hosting their Annual Holiday Extravaganza on campus Wednesday, December 12 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. 8 Chamber businesses have signed up to attend. Karen will be on site for the duration of the event. 

Madison Holiday Ornament

The Chambers annuallimited edition ornament is available for $20 and can be purchased at The Madison Pharmacy, Stewart-Morris Awards, Gifts & Flags and The Museum of Early Trades & Crafts. The jade crystal beveled ornament is oval and etched with an image of Madison's historic train station which was built in 1916. Each ornament is inscribed with the year 2018 and includes a silver hanging cord and a two-piece gift box. Approximately 70 have been sold to date.

Holiday Window Painting Program

16 businesses had their store front windows painted by the Madison High School (15) and Drew University art students (1). Windows were complete by Thanksgiving. Karen to promote on Facebook and in the newsletter.

Madison Eagle Christmas Fund

The MECF helped 55 families and several seniors this year.  Donated items will be picked up for distribution December 12 & 13 from those businesses collecting donations.  The MECF purchased 12 ornaments for their Giving Tuesday promotion. Ornaments were sold to MECF at a 10% discount.

Rosie the Rose City Reindeer Scavenger Hunt

Rosie began on Saturday, November 24 and will run through Monday, December 17. Tons of Toys is providing the prizes again this year.  Kate Salko wore our full sized Rosie costume in the Christmas parade to help promote the program. 58 businesses are participating.

Annual Holiday Party

The Annual Holiday Party is scheduled for Tuesday, January 15, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Rocco’s Bar & Grill.

2019 Camp Fair

Tentative date is Sunday, March 10, 2019 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.  Location:  Madison Community Arts Center.

Taste of Madison

The 2019 Taste of Madison will be held on Monday, March 18 at Brooklake Country Club. Sponsorship letters have officially gone out.


Nautilus Place Mat program: The January – June placemat Advertising program is complete. Layout and final approvals will be done by end of day on Friday, December 7.

Madison Loyalty Rewards Card Program:  Program will be renewed in January.

Madison Gift Check program:  increased advertising for the holidays.


Focus Meetings- Wednesday, December 5 & 19 at 8:30am at Rocco’s Bar & Grill, 30 Cook Ave.

Business Networking Breakfast- Tuesday, December 11 at 7:45 am at the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts.

Monthly Happy Hour- Due to Christmas the December Happy Hour will be switched to Thursday, December 20, 5:00 pm-7:00 pm. Location TBD.


Gwen reported that the YMCA will be hosting Holiday Hoopla on December 15.  They are also collecting coats for Jersey Cares. 


Peter reported Car Show profited $2084.83 to be split with the PBA #92.


NEXT MEETING- Our next scheduled Chamber Board meeting is Tuesday, January 8 at 6:30pm at Romanelli’s.
