The Adult School

As a nonprofit organization, The Adult School is proud to have provided communities with lifelong learning opportunities since 1937. Its mission is to offer opportunities to learn new skills, re-new interests in long-forgotten hobbies, or simply have fun together with old and new friends alike.
Classes are currently offered during the day and in the evening in a variety of locations, including Basking Ridge, Chatham, Florham Park, Madison, and Westfield. No residency is required. The Adult School offers more than 300 classes in a diverse range of subject areas, including computers, foreign languages, arts and crafts, food and cooking, dance and music, career and finance, home and garden, and sports and fitness.
In addition to classes, The Adult School also offers day-trips. In recent semesters, there have been bus trips to The Culinary Institute of America, Broadway shows (including To Kill a Mockinbird, My Fair Lady, and The Prom), a New York Yankees baseball game, Hudson River fall foliage trip, and many others. In addition, several local trips are scheduled each semester, including visits to The Morristown Airport, Shakespeare Theatre, Thomas Edison’s laboratory, and other hidden gems in our immediate vicinity.
