Presentation:

DDC Commissioner Craig Erezuma, Architect - AIA, LEED-AP, made two presentations to the Board. First, the DDC has been exploring a way-finding plan that will lead Madison's visitors to the business district in an effective, efficient and pleasing manner. The goal is to inform Madison's newcomers of the wealth of opportunities that await them downtown, especially shopping and dining. New signs would be key and an information kiosk could be installed at the Madison Recreation Complex. Second, Craig showed a rough draft of a short video he produced and directed about the historic Hartley Dodge Memorial. The video could serve as a template for more historic videos, which would highlight Madison landmarks such as the train station, churches and destinations in the business district. The videos would be community-produced, professionally narrated and posted to YouTube.com, and perhaps to kiosks. The goal is to raise awareness about Madison's fascinating history, demonstrate how pleasant Madison is and to increase amount of foot traffic in town. Craig will keep Chamber updated on progress of these initiatives.
